On Monday, we had another fantastic session at Minehead Road Day Centre! We began the day with singing, enhanced by musical instruments, which brought so much energy, laughter, and engagement to the group. Using instruments alongside singing is not only fun but also supports memory, coordination, and fine motor skills, while boosting mood and social connection.
After warming up with music, we moved onto tile painting. Participants painted stunning flower designs on tiles using acrylic paints. Everyone got fully involved and created unique designs, demonstrating their creativity and attention to detail. Tile painting is an excellent activity for developing fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, concentration, and providing a sense of achievement.
One of the highlights of the session was seeing a participant get up and dance to our final song, joining one of our facilitators in group dancing. Moments like this show the joy and confidence that engaging in music and movement can bring.
We’re always inspired by the creativity, energy, and engagement of our participants. Activities like singing, playing instruments, and painting aren’t just fun—they have real Occupational Therapy benefits that help support wellbeing, skill development, and social connection.
