This week we had the pleasure of running two creative clay workshops — one at Minehead Day Centre and another at Grand Avenue Day Centre.

We began both sessions with a lively warm-up of singing and musical instruments, which set a joyful and relaxed atmosphere. Once everyone was engaged and smiling, we moved on to our main activity: making beautiful fruit baskets from clay.

Each participant started by shaping a pinch pot and decorating the outside with stamp patterns, adding their own unique flair. We then crafted a selection of clay fruit to fill the baskets before finishing with a handle to go over the top.

The results were wonderful — every basket told its own story through the creativity and imagination of the maker.

It was fantastic to see everyone getting stuck in, experimenting, and expressing themselves through the clay. The energy in the room was full of focus, laughter, and encouragement.

Both sessions were a real success, and we’re so proud of the beautiful creations that came out of them. Most importantly, it was a great opportunity for everyone to connect, share, and enjoy the process of making something with their own hands.
