Tuesday at Youldon House

On Tuesday, we visited Youldon House for a lively and joyful session with Rubicon Dance. The group absolutely loved getting involved - moving to the music, sharing laughter, and connecting through dance. These sessions are a wonderful reminder that movement doesn’t just support physical wellbeing, but also brings people together through rhythm, expression, and fun.

Wednesday at the Age Connects Café

Wednesday was our Memory and Wellbeing Café at the Age Connects Café in Barry. We began the session by opening a friendly discussion, inviting everyone to share if there were any areas they’ve been finding challenging at home. This created space for people to reflect, exchange advice, and receive guidance and reassurance.

After our chat, we moved into our creative activity for the week, decorating plant pots! Everyone wrapped colourful twine around their pots and added material flowers to create bright, cheerful designs. Once our pots were ready, we chopped up fresh tomatoes, collected and washed the seeds, and then planted them into the decorated pots to take home.

It was a lovely way to combine creativity, nature, and a touch of mindfulness, and we can’t wait to see those tomato plants grow!

After the group session, Lauren and Savanna stayed at the café until 3pm to offer a drop-in service, providing space for anyone to come along for a chat or to seek additional support as part of our ongoing Memory and Wellbeing Café initiative.

A Week of Connection

Both sessions this week were filled with laughter, conversation, and creativity, all at the heart of what CwmpasOT aims to do: supporting older adults to stay active, connected, and well.
