This week at Age Connects Barry, we shared a fun-filled session that was bursting with energy, creativity, and a sprinkle of sweetness!

Chrissy from Home Instead got us all giggling with a fast-paced Honky Horn Quiz—a playful and interactive game that encouraged quick thinking, shouting out answers, and plenty of laughter. The honky horn brought a fun twist that kept everyone engaged and entertained! 🎺😄

After the quiz, we moved on to a hands-on Easter activity: decorating eggs with edible sugar flowers and edible glitter. The room was filled with concentration, colour, and conversation as each person designed their own edible Easter masterpiece.

Occupational Therapy Benefits

🧠 Cognitive Stimulation – The quiz challenged memory and attention, supporting brain health in a fun and engaging way.

👋 Fine Motor Skills – Decorating with small edible elements supported hand dexterity and coordination—essential for maintaining independence in everyday tasks.

🎨 Creativity & Expression – Choosing colours, placing decorations, and personalising each egg gave space for self-expression and pride.

💬 Social Connection – The session sparked chats, laughter, and storytelling, boosting mood and fostering connection.

🍬 Sensory Engagement – The textures, colours, and sweet scents of the edible materials provided gentle sensory input, adding to the experience.

It was a joyful mix of play, purpose, and creativity—reminding us how meaningful activities can nourish both body and soul.
