It’s been another wonderful week of creativity, movement, and connection across our CwmpasOT sessions! From clay crafts to seated football and community chats, every group brought their own energy and smiles — and we loved being part of it all.

🎨 Rhiwbina Day Centre – Clay Creations

We started the week at Rhiwbina Day Centre with a hands-on clay workshop led by Savanna and Lauren, joined by Olivia, who was visiting us for the day. The group rolled up their sleeves to create pinch pots, coil pots, and pumpkins, with plenty of laughter and conversation along the way. Everyone took home their finished pieces — a lovely reminder of what can be achieved through creativity and connection. Activities like this also support fine motor skills, focus, and confidence, all while sparking joy.

🌼 Youldon House – Plant Pot Decorating & Bulb Planting

Next up was Youldon House, where the group explored creativity through plant pot decorating and bulb planting. Using twine, ribbons, and artificial flowers, participants designed their own pots before heading to our Montessori-inspired planting station to plant crocus bulbs. The activity encouraged independence, choice, and sensory engagement, and the calm, purposeful atmosphere made it a soothing and satisfying morning. Everyone loved the idea of watching their bulbs grow in the months ahead.

⚽ Grangetown Hub – Seated Football & Quiz Fun

Midweek saw us back at Grangetown Hub, where we were greeted by familiar faces excited to get started again after a short break. The group enjoyed a lively session of seated football, balanced with rounds of our popular quiz. The laughter, teamwork, and friendly competition filled the room — a great reminder that movement doesn’t have to be intense to boost coordination, social connection, and wellbeing.

☕ STAR Hub – Community Taster Session

We also popped into the STAR Hub in Cardiff to run a taster seated football session around the hub grounds. It was a lovely, informal morning where we chatted with community members, shared a few laughs (and goals!), and even enjoyed a cup of tea together afterwards. It was a great opportunity to connect with new faces and spread the word about how occupational therapy-based activities can make a real difference to wellbeing.

🧩 Age Connects Café – Quizzes, Games, and Song

To round off the week, we spent the day at Age Connects Café, running a full morning of seated sports and quizzes. The mix of hoopla, bean bag throwing, and seated basketball got everyone moving and laughing — with a few competitive streaks emerging too! Later in the afternoon, we supported Norman in his sing-along group. The day was filled with connection, music, and positive energy.
