Today marked the start of something really special at Rondel House as we trialled a brand new Occupational Therapy-led group – and what a brilliant first session it was!
We began by coming together to choose a group name, and we proudly settled on “Rondel Beauties” – a perfect reflection of the energy and positivity in the room 💛

Next, we picked our group song – the cheerful and timeless “Daisy Daisy”! Each of us had a musical instrument in hand, and the room came alive as we sang and played together. This activity supported mood, rhythm, coordination, and social engagement, all while having fun and connecting through music 🎶🌼

We then explored something deeper and more personal using the Kawa Model, an occupational therapy tool that uses the metaphor of a river to understand a person’s life journey. Each participant created a collage representing the things they enjoy (like hobbies and interests) and the challenges that may be getting in the way.
This activity helped us reflect on meaningful occupations, barriers to participation, and personal goals. We’ll be repeating this at the end of our time together to see how far we’ve come – using it as an outcome measure to track the positive impact of the group on well-being and daily life.
We’re so excited to see where this journey takes us with the Rondel Beauties – today was just the beginning 💫
